The MLB postseason is just a few days away! What better way to celebrate the path to the World Series than offering you a chance at a Mickey Mantle rookie card.
Mantle won seven World Series championships with the New York Yankees. During his illustrious career, Mantle won three MVP awards and won the triple crown by leading the league in batting average, home runs, and RBI in 1956. Before becoming a first-ballot Hall of Famer, Mantle was just 19 when he put on the Yankees uniform in 1950. Though he was called up to the big leagues in 1950, The Mick never appeared in a game. As you look at the image on the card above with that blue sky and white clouds behind him, imagine what was to come when he posed for the picture.
Willie Mays, The Say Hey Kid, was just a kid in his 1951 Bowman rookie card, too. Mays was only 20 in 1951. Mays might be the best five-tool player ever to player ever to step onto the field. A World Series champion in 1954, a two-time MVP, and 24-time All-Star, Mays hit more home runs than Mantle (660 to 536)! We love looking at vintage cards like the Mays rookie - notice he's not wearing a helmet or batting gloves. Imagine a player today not wearing either!
The set is LOADED with Hall of Famers, stars, and stunning images. As the set has 324 total cards, only 324 spots are available in this set break. Each spot your purchase guarantees you one card; nobody goes home emptyhanded! Once all the spots are purchased, we'll go live on our stream and randomize the list for you to see. After the random, if your name lands on spot number one, you take home card number one - the White Ford rookie card! If your name is in spot 253, card #253 is yours - the Mantle rookie!
If you thought the world was different when players didn't wear helmets or batting gloves - gas was 19 cents a gallon in 1951. The world hadn't watched a baseball game on TV in color et until August 11th, 1951 when the Boston Braves played the Brooklyn Dodgers.
