Jimmie Foxx's nickname was THE BEAST! This 1935 Diamond Stars card is why we are naming our event The Beast. Foxx was a three-time AL MVP (1932, 1933, and 1938), won the Triple Crown by leading the league in average, home runs, and runs batted in in 1933, and won a pair of World Series championships (1929, 1930) for his Philadelphia Athletics. Foxx also slugged 534 career home runs. Can you believe The Beast didn't get inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame until his SEVENTH year on the ballot?
