Man Steals Sports Cards from Walmart THEN Steals Cop Car in Chattanooga

A man first steals over $500 in sports cards from Walmart, then STEALS A COP CAR! This is how not to collect sports cards.

In Chattanooga, TN., Antonio D. Pickett, 29, stopped by the Walmart on Brainerd Road. When trying to check out with items that included over $500 in sports cards, the debit card Pickett tried to use did not work. Pickett and another man then took the bags and tried to walk out without paying. An off-duty police officer was working at Walmart to witness the action.

The officer stopped Pickett and his friend, but then things got a little crazy. Pickett ran back inside the store where he tried to evade the officer. Pickett tried to run back out of the store, and tripped on a bystander he pushed out of the way. Police then handcuffed Pickett, placed him in the back of their cop car with the doors locked. Officers then went in to check on the bystander and called an ambulance. 

When the officers returned to their cop car, the car was GONE! Pickett STOLE THE COP CAR.

Watching on the security camera, officers realized that Pickett, handcuffed, made his way through the sliding window, and drove off.

Pickett stole sports cards, then a police car. Oh. My.

Police spotted Pickett on the run, and a police chase ensued. Pickett eventually crashed and flipped the police car several times, then tried to escape on foot!

We are glad everyone is safe, and Pickett is off the streets! We appreciate the officers and everyone that risked their well being to apprehend Pickett. The entire story and photos can be seen on KFOX14 HERE.
