Gary Vaynerchuk Eats Gum from 1972 Topps Basketball Pack During Break

Gary Vaynerchuk Eats Gum from 1972 Topps Basketball Pack During Break

Friend of Vintage Breaks, Gary Vaynerchuk, sat down to open vintage wax packs with the big cheese, Leighton Sheldon.  We hoped to find a pack-fresh Dr. J rookie card from a 1972 pack, but what happened instead made our jaws hit the floor.  Gary V ATE THE GUM.  Watch the video to see Leighton's reaction.  ...oh, and to see what came out of the  wax pack.

Gary V invited Leighton up to his office at VaynerMedia to open vintage  wax packs. Leighton brought some basketball presents to Gary including a sealed 1972 Topps wax pack to break.  Gary is a big card collector! You may remember he was in our 2003 Topps Black Chrome Refractor set break and tried to buy the LeBron James rookie on the spot in the break from the customer, Rob G, that landed that puppy!  See Rob's response HERE!  We were thrilled to bust '72 wax with Gary, looking for a Dr. J rookie card.  What actually happened, though, prompted Leighton to make this face:

Let's roll the video and see what Gary V did, shall we?

Gary V just ate the gum from a 1972 Topps basketball pack, then swallowed it! 😯

Let's take a look at Leighton's face AFTER Gary downed the gum:

In the pack, Gary pulled a rookie card of Hall of Famer, Artis Gilmore.  NICE pull, Gary!  The Gilmore rookie is overshadowed by Gary eating that gum isn't it?  We couldn't stop laughing.

Question for YOU!  If you knew - if you knew 100 % you could pull the Dr. J rookie card from the pack - would you eat the gum from 1972?

If you'd like to break vintage NBA packs like Gary V (we won't make you eat the gum!), we have spots in a 1972 Topps wax pack break HERE.  We also have spots in 1970 Topps hoops HERE if you want to hunt for a second-year Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and a pack of 1986-87 Fleer for you to try and pull a Michael Jordan rookie card HERE.

Vintage Breaks offers THE BEST VALUE IN BREAKING.

When you check out for a spot on the site, the price you see is the price you pay. Taxes and shipping are included!  Your cards always come protected in holders.  The last time you mailed a package out had to have set you back more than three bucks, right?  If you buy a $3.00 spot, you get your card holdered and shipped for that price.

Lack of product in stores has been a problem; we see the same empty shelves that you do. Target has paused all card sales!  If you can't find cards, Vintage Breaks is your solution!

FUN!  Cards are our passion!  Isn't is just more fun to chat with other collectors? Come hang with us and other collectors just like you during our breaks!

Even if you just want to watch the show, chat, and meet new collectors, that's always welcomed!

A Vintage Breaks, we have our main breaking show in New Jersey (The North), to go with our night owls in the South (Georgia), and the West (Arizona).  You can always check our CALENDAR to see when we're breaking.

If you have sealed wax, vintage or modern, that you are considering selling, contact us today to discuss or get our industry-leading purchase offer.  We're always interested in both sealed product of both sport and non-sport.  Whether you have that rare 1955 Bowman cello pack, a wax box of 1984 Topps football, 1977 Topps Star Wars, Pokémon, or 2019 Panini National Treasures basketball you'd like to sell, we'd love to hear from you!
