Is there anything better than pulling a pack-fresh rookie card of a Hall of Famer? From a 1975 OPC pack, out came a stunning George Brett rookie card on VB!
We offered you spots in a PSA-graded pack of 1975 O-Pee-Chee baseball cards. Inside were eight cards and a delicious stick of gum. If you're not familiar with OPC cards, they are almost identical to Topps but were released in Canada. You can read all about the differences between the two brands here.Â
One of the big cards to pull is #228, Geroge Brett. The Kansas City Royals legend is a 13-time All-Star, won 3 batting titles, a World Series, and ranks 18th for most hits in baseball history!Â
As we began to break the pack, the centering Gods were not kind; the first few cards were absurdly off centered. Thankfully the QC department at OPC had their coffee kick in, and this happened:

Congrats to Stephen G for this Brett rookie card! The card is still slightly OC, but we will take this condition ALL DAY. The PSA pop report is pretty low on an OPC Brett rookie card. Without qualifiers, there are just 36 of these cards graded PSA 8, 24 graded PSA 9, and only 3 PSA 10 are known. In total, only 317 of the 1975 OPC George Brett rookie cards have been graded by PSA! The values are pretty nice even in lower grads; a PSA 6 was sold for $406. The last PSA 9 was sold for over $3,400!Â
Brett is just 22 in that picture on his rookie card. You can see the purple and greed border that Rob Bob and J5 mentioned. The wrapper takes us back - only ten cents for a pack of cards. Can you even buy anything for a dime today?Â
