Pack-fresh Dr. J rookie card! Vintage Breaks opened a sealed wax pack of 1972 Topps basketball cards and pull this monster live on our stream. 

During our big EVENT, we had the honor to open up a sealed pack of 1972 Topps basketball cards for you. Sealed for 53 years, these cards haven't seen the light of days since WELL before the Internet was a thing! We're talking about a time when the Warriors first arrived in Golden State (1971), gas was 36 cents a gallon and Lean on Me by Bill Withers hit #1 on the Billboard charts (are these charts even still around...).

While the set is loaded with stars and Hall of Famers such as Pete Maravich, Oscar Robertson, Phil Jackson, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, THE card in the set is #195, Julius Evering. "Dr. J" is a three-time ABA MVP, two-time ABA champion, and an NBA Champion. Between the ABA and NBA, Dr. J made 16 All-Star games and turned heads by winning the 1976 ABA Slam Dunk Championship. When you hear Dr. J, you know who people are talking about.

S10 broke this 1972 Topps wax pack, which was graded by PSA. After we cracked it out of the case and pulled THE card for Steve B:

 

 

We LOVE how S10 paused after the John Baum card to see the list of "hits" - and the Dr. J was in his hands. Before noticing this stunner was resting on his fingers, S10 wasn't aware of what the card was! Huge congratulations, Steve B! This card is a beauty. Nicely centered, Dr. J is in his Virgina Squires jersey and rocking the iconic ABA ball.
